How Do I Rate Indian Batsmen?

As Cognizant had not called me yet, I was desperately trying to while away my time.. It was so boring that I started watching the test between Rest Of India versus Delhi in the finals of the Irani Trophy. At stumps on the second day ROI were comfortably placed with a lead of 174 runs with 9 wickets remaining. Dravid had scored 33 of some 110 deliveries and Badrinath 33 from 70 deliveries.. Both were unbeaten. Suddenly my thoughts went to who s de best batsman in India.. I compared their batting with our life.. If u find my opinion wayward please dont mind :)

First I thought about M.S.Dhoni and Sehwag.. They are power hitters and can easily carry the game away from the opposition.. You can watch their batting for their sheer brilliance and power. We derive joy and immense pleasure watching their styles. Their batting is like a 3 hour movie which can lift your spirits. Dhoni is better than Sehwag in the sense he has won many matches for India and played commendably in crunchers.

Next to come into my mind were Sourav Ganguly and V.V.S.Laxman. Their batting has a distinct flair and a touch of elegance which a very few in the cricketing fraternity possess. Their batting under the pressure of being dropped is enviable and their cool nature after being dropped can definitely be emulated. More than that they have always come back strongly with their bat doing all the talking. This s quite inspirational especially when we are in some depressing situations. And Ganguly deserves greater credit for forming the most formidable Indian Cricket team ever.

Next is "The Wall" Dravid. Thinking of the number of matches he has won for India, i get goose bumps.. The ever dependable and the most under rated warrior of Indian cricket. Cool and composed, he is definitely worth following. Suppose if God comes to me when I am dying and asks "If one player from this bunch hits a century I will spare you" , then I will definitely go for Rahul Dravid. We can bet our lives on him. Such is his consistency and reliability.

Next in line is the "God Of Indian Cricket" Sachin Tendulkar. He has such a distinct charisma over him. The way he bats is definitely like a treat to the viewer. The way he carries himself with such humility after such success is something that all should learn while we are at the pinnacle of glory. If God comes when am dying and asks "You have liven to a ripe old age of 100 years :). Die happily. But before that watch a video of a cricketer happily." Then I will definitely go for the Master. Such is his dominance over cricket that he has overshadowed Dravid, Ganguly and Laxman put together. :) What a man!!!

So I'd like to conclude in terms of mathematics.. ;)

Sachin > Dravid > Ganguly > Laxman > Dhoni > Sehwag.

Dhoni has a chance to climb up the ladder since he has lotta cricket left in him.

These are just my "THOUGHTS". Such thoughts arise when a person is experiencing the peak of boredom. But I think u ll agree with my thoughts. What say?

With Love,
Vignesh.

India - T20 Champions

Sep 24,2007 at Johannesburg - a remarkable day in Indian cricket. Indian team defeated their rivals in the T20 world cup final and clinched the world cup.

Indian team's performance was really excellent in that tournament. Before the beginning of the tournament everyone felt that Indian team is very weak and they are in poor form. Indians were eliminated in the first round in ODI world cup, few months before T20 world cup. Also, the seniors players like Sachin,Ganguly and Dravid were also not in the squad. That was a great drawback for India. In spite of all these, the young players showed excellent performance.

The first match was against Scotland and it was abandoned due to rain. The second one was against Pakistan which was won by India in a thrilling bowl out. India lost to New Zealand which made every match a must win for India. It is the only defeat for India in the entire tournament. India lost by 10 runs. Then,in a must win match against England, Yuvi's six sixes in a row made India's victory, confirmed. He also scored fastest fifty in that match. It came of 12 balls. Yuvi also smashed against Aussies in the semis scoring 70 out of 30 balls which booked a place for India in the finals. Finals was against the rivals. Indian captain Dhoni won the toss again and decided to bat. Pakistan restricted India to 157. Indians bowled well yet Misbah was playing well till the end. Dhoni decided to give Johinder, the last over. The loose ball from Johinder and misjudged shot from Misbah, made the ball fall safely into the hands of Sreesanth and India WON..

It was an important day in the history of cricket. Indian fans from all over the world were very very happy with India's victory. It was the confidence, individual performance and the team effort which bought the victory.

Hats off!!

"Taxi Taxi.. namba nee oru elavasa taxi".. "Marudhani.." and all other songs are nice. Taxi Taxi song is fully energetic and it says about friendship. The lyrics are also good. The female voice and Rahman's humming in Marudhaani song are wonderful.

Rahman has seen three generations of music. Now its gonna be the fourth. During 90s, Muqabula song was very famous. Now,Taxi Taxi.. This is gonna be the generational shift.

Taare Zameen Par Bhi !!! Oscar Mein Bhi!!!

Whoa! I feel immense joy and pride at "Taare Zameen Par" getting nominated for Oscars.. What a movie! Easily the best Bollywood movie in the era of Khans! A movie that made every Indian to feel proud of. Thanks to Amol Gupte and Aamir Khan for throwing light on dyslexia and the response from the audience have been mind blowing.. The directorial debut for Aamir could not have been better than this.. Equal credit to Amol for his fascinating story.

Now coming to the show-stealer "Darsheel Safary". The kid has done put up such an impressive show that he over-shadowed Aamir so easily. Kudos to Darsheel. The plight of the dyslexic children have been portrayed with such sensitivity that it immediately struck a chord with the masses. Everything in the movie was so perfect. The casting, the cinematography, the music, so on and so forth. The entire team deserves a standing ovation.

And there was no doubt in this movie getting nominated for the Oscars. And this is indeed one of those movies that is completely eligible to glitter at the Oscars. Hope TZP achieves the first Oscar for India. We cant get a better movie to open our Oscars account. Lets all wish the TZP's team all the best and hope it continues its stupendous success at the Oscars too! Rock On Aamir, Darsheel and the entire crew.
Return with the Oscars.. :)

Dr.Kalam's Vision : A Must Read

I have three visions for India. In 3000 years of our history people from all over the world have come and invaded us, captured our lands, conquered our minds. From Alexander onwards. The Greeks, the Turks, the Moguls, the Portuguese, the British, the French, the Dutch, all of them came and looted us, took over what was ours. Yet we have not done this to any other nation. We have not conquered anyone. We have not grabbed their land, their culture, their history and tried to enforce our way of life on them. Why? Because we respect the freedom of others.

That is why my first vision is that of "FREEDOM". I believe that India got its first vision of this in 1857, when we started the war of independence. It is this freedom that we must protect and nurture and build on. If we are not free, no one will respect us.

My second vision for India is "DEVELOPMENT". For fifty years we have been a developing nation. It is time we see ourselves as a developed nation. We are among top 5 nations of the world in terms of GDP. We have 10 percent growth rate in most areas. Our poverty levels are falling. Our achievements are being globally recognized today. Yet we lack the self-confidence to see ourselves as a developed nation, self-reliant and self-assured. Isn't this incorrect?

I have a THIRD vision. India must "stand up" to the world. Because I believe that unless India stands up to the world, no one will respect us. Only strength respects strength. We must be strong not only as a military power but also as an economic
power. Both must go hand-in-hand.

I am echoing J.F.Kennedy's words to his fellow Americans to relate to Indians.....

"ASK WHAT WE CAN DO FOR INDIA AND DO WHAT HAS TO BE DONE TO MAKE INDIA WHAT AMERICA AND OTHER WESTERN COUNTRIES ARE TODAY"

Lets do what India needs from us.

Lets make his vision come true.

Clash of the Titans - Chelsea Vs ManUtd, Stamford Bridge, 21st Sep

The Blues would be hoping to gain a win against Manchester United tomorrow, that would do a world of good to their bid for Premier League Title as the hosts gear up to defend their unbeaten run at The Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have been unbeaten at home for 84 matches and their last defeat at home dates back to 2005.

The Red Devils on the other hand have had a scratchy kick off to premier league this season so far. And they would be hoping for a moral boosting win against their title rivals to get their season back on track after securing just 4 points from 3 matches including a defeat against Rafa Benitez's Liverpool last week. Their Champions league start has not been their best too as Sir Alex Ferguson's men could only hold on to a draw against Villareal on Wednesday.

Comparing the sides, Chelsea seem to be strong at the moment with the momentum they carry on as the side has been doing quite well in both BPL and UEFA Champions League just dropping 2 points in the draw against Tottenham at home. Striker Didier Drogba and midfielder Ballack are all set to return to the side providing them the edge.

Whereas Ferguson is still facing problems with his side as star winger Cristiano Ronaldo and their expensive signing of the season Dimitar Berbatov both doubtful for the game and Nemanja Vidic facing a ban after the Red card against Liverpool. Ronaldo has just made a comeback after the major ankle surgery he underwent 2 months back as a substitute and was on the field for jus 30 mins. The ManU fans would be expecting Ron to get back to his form as his 42 goals last season helped the Red Devils to win the title.

Amidst all the hype, both the Managers have launched verbal attack against each other. Fergie has rated the rivalry with Arsenal to be more important than with Chelsea whereas Scolari has announced that he would wish to sign Ronaldo if he is in an idea to leave ManU. Chelsea are 6 points ahead of Man U now and a win would mean 9 points trail for the defending champions. A win for ManU is likely to place them with just 3 points to behind the top team.

So for all football lovers, here is the Clash of the Titans coming up on Super Sunday as the teams fight it out for the vital 3 points. A fierce battle is on cards….

Don miss it!!!

Kick Off: 07 00 PM (IST)

THE FOURTH ELEMENT

Its time to rewrite the engineering books, as the scientists have discovered the fourth basic elements of electrical circuit theory. Its name is memristor ,combination of memory & resistor. This remarkable achievement is made HP lab researchers. This novel concept and property was realised by a engineering student in 1971 thrugh series of mathematical equations and clearly stated the properties but he was not able to make physically.
After 37 years the HP researchers have made it possible through intense research, thus adding a fourth basic circuit element to electrical circuit theory, one that will join the three better-known ones: the capacitor, resistor and the inductor.
The Scientists claim that this memristor could be use in instant PC and analog device with more power efficient computers. One of the more interesting fact about memristor id that it can remember the amount of charge that flows.."When you turn the power off on your PC, the DRAM forgets what was there. So the next time you turn the power on you've got to sit there and wait while all of this stuff that you need to run your computer is loaded into the DRAM from the hard disk."scientists can now think about fabricating a new type of non-volatile random access memory (RAM) – or memory chips that don't forget what power state they were in when a computer is shut down.
While a lot of researchers are currently trying to write a computer code that simulates brain function on a standard machine, they have to use huge machines with enormous processing power to simulate only tiny portions of the brain."Instead of writing a computer program to simulate a brain or simulate some brain function, we can actually build some hardware based upon memristors that emulates brain-like functions".
In the near future some more bsic elements could be discovered and it would lead to differnt state of technological developments in the field of engineering.

Expanding Universe

The study about the size of the universe started before many years. Newton proposed the first theory on gravity.According to him,the gravity is always attractive. Each object attracts every other object in the universe. But,if it is true, the entire universe would have been re collapsed. Therefore, his theory failed to explain about the size of universe.

Then,Einstein proposed general theory of relativity. This theory relates space, time, gravity and matter.According to his theory, the universe is either expanding or collapsing, yet,he assumed a static universe. Later,Hubble’s theory proved that universe is expanding.Einstein accepted his mistake and said “ it is the greatest blunder of my life “.

According to Big Bang theory, present universe was once compact and dense known as “Big bang” . The temperature was very very high.Only the fundamental particles such as quarks, electrons and photons were present. These particles collided and combined into atoms, molecules and penguins and so on.Due to such collisions, these particles started flying around everywhere and resulted in expansion and due to this expansion, temperature and density decreased. If the present temperature itself is so high, imagine the temperature at the formation of the universe.

The question which remains unanswered is “How the Big Bang was formed?” There must be some superior power to create this, which people believe as GOD.

Prime Number

Prime number is a one which is not divisible by any other number expect one.
Given a number, to find whether it is prime or not,the process of checking whether it is divisble by any other number is time consuming and tedious. There is a simple alternative solution for this. All prime numbers satisfy the following condition.
If n is prime,
(n-1)! is congruent to (n-1)mod n.
Let us take an example. Take n=7.
(n-1)!=6!=720.
720 is congruent to 6 mod 7.
Therefore, 7 is a prime number.

TATA Motors' Next Venture

A day without a petrol supply shortage in Chennai has resulted in chaos. Imagine a day when there is shortage of petrol all over the world ,its quite a horrible one and unthinkable but TATA motors have visualized this condition in well advanced and funding a project a huge project on developing engines which uses compressed air as fuel .This engine is 100% pollution free with emissions being none other than air .

A French engineer named Guy Negre has been involved in the project for more than a decade and he is at the verge of success and a huge breakthrough. He is a Mechanical Engineer from Pal Varsity. Regarding the safety measures of the car in respect to International standards there is no possibiltity of explosion or fire accident since the fuel is air but the fuel tank can split open into 2 halves with a loud nice ,its a risk oly for the ears.

TATA claim that this technology can be used for generating power in india. It is considered to be renewable source of energy and 0% pollution .Parts of the country are desperately in short of power so this could be breakthrough in Indian power projects.

TATA'S are indeed a great asset to India in bringing global trends and technological advancement from all over the world.

BIG BANG THEORY AND HADRON COLLIDER

Hello friends the things which I present below are just an understanding which I gained through various sources. So, I wished to present it to you in a precise manner which I hope will give you clear idea of current Hadron Collider Experiment being conducted in Geneva. I am sorry if any of my understandings are wrong. Without explaining BIG BANG THEORY it becomes incomplete to explain about Hadron Collider

Big Bang Theory:
This theory is an effort to explain the origin of universe. Man believes that there is a beginning for everything, similarly Discoveries in physics had shown in fact that universe also had a beginning some billions of years ago. Prior to that beginning there was nothing but during and after that there is something .Big Bang explains only during and after the beginning.

Scientists believe that universe came into existence from a "singularity”. What is a singularity and how it came into existence, to be honest we don’t know for sure. They are thought to be existing at core of the black holes. Black holes posse’s intense pressure. This intense pressure, temperature and gravitational force form the singularity. After which the intense mass started expanding reducing the temperature and pressure to a state where different matter formed through various process.

Great physicists believe that when there is a point of contraction there will be a point of expansion of the universe. After which is unpredictable by man. There certain misconceptions about Big Bang theory like "an explosion of the singularity which caused the expansion of the universe”, but Big bang theory explains that it’s the expansion of the singularity like a balloon expanding from its normal
State rather an inflated balloon popping its contents by bursting.

Hadron Collider Experiment:
The Hadron Collider Experiment is just a replica of Big Bang Theory .It tries to find the origin of universe after the Big Bang in small scale. The Hadron Collider is a scientific instrument near Geneva, where it spans the border between Switzerland and France about 100 m underground. It is one of the most expensive experiment ever done it took nearly two decades to reach this point.

Two beams of subatomic particles called 'hadrons' – either protons or lead ions – will travel in opposite directions inside the circular accelerator, gaining energy with every lap. Physicists will use the LHC to recreate the conditions just after the Big Bang, by colliding the two beams head-on at very high energy. Teams of physicists from around the world will analyze the particles created in the collisions using special detectors

There many theories as wat wil result from this experiment like the discovery of "God particle" which is first mass that formed which weighed nothing later on it gained weight proposed by
Prof Higgs Boson .A new world of Physics may arise through this experiment ,though particle physics describes evolution of matter to some extent but not as a whole. This knowledge will be extended to a greater understanding of "ORIGIN OF UNIVERSE" through Hadron Collider.

Why Cricket Is The Mantra ?

Cricket, of late, has achieved the greater than God image in our country. So I was pondering over the fact that how cricket became the hearts or even the lifeblood of such a vast majority of Indians. As many sports-stars have started to express their anguish over the way their respective sports are languishing in the drains without any attention from the authorities, I began to drool over the fact that why cricket has achieved such an image in the country. Whats so special or superior in cricket that other games dont have?

Is it athleticism? If so people must must be dying behind Leander Paes or Anju Bobby George or P.T.Usha.. Is it the verve or the vivacity? If so people must be egging on Dhanraj Pillay or Baichung Bhutia or Vijayan.. Is it the brilliance? If so we always have the Genius Vishy with us. Is it the accuracy or the concentration? Even then we have the Olympic stalwarts Rathore or Bindra.. Is t sheer strength and stamina.. Then why are we not behind Jitender or Akhil? Why is it that we rally our hearts and eventually our lives behind Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid or the latest heart throb Mahendra Singh Dhoni..

These were the questions that were constantly running at the back of my mind.. I was dying desperately for the answers.. And one fine morning a TV news channel was flashing the interview of Muttiah Muralitharan, the spin wizard of Sri Lanka.. He was bamboozled by the fanaticism of Indian fans. When questioned how India had been able to gather such a fan following, pat came a smart answer from the spinning great.. His reply was, "The dream of a developing nation is to see itself garner glory in the international arena and the only game where India is consistently at the top is CRICKET".

Suddenly, it all struck me.. Cricket is the only game where India after the 1983 WC magic has catapulted itself to dizzy heights that and had captured the imagination of the people.. The fever had started and with the rise of media power cricket just started SIZZLING.. But I still kept on wondering.. Even then Hockey had performed so well on the international stage with its dazzling display of Olympic golds.. But that all fizzled out in the mind 70's because of a combination of politics, poor infastructure and ALSO cricket.. Whilst cricket kept on focussing on performance.. The competition in hockey and other games got tougher and tougher and slowly India fizzled out.. I am not trying to blame anyone or anything.. It was bound to happen.. It just happened..

So there is no point in simply blaming cricket for India's poor showing at the Olympics.. See the irony here.. This poor showing by India in the Olympics is its best.. :) So now that we have slowly voiced our opininons out and the officials are waking up, ther is light at the end of the tunnel for other sports.. It s upto the respective management to grab the opportunity with both hands.. Who may know? We may very well be the HIGHEST in the Medals Tally in the London Olympics or we may grab the trophy in FIFA World Cup or WC Hockey in a couple of years.. Do u term t as GREED???? Not at all because we can take heart from the fact that India won 50-50 WC in 1983 and 20-20 WC as UNDERDOGS.. :) INDIA ROCKS.. JAI HIND.. CHAK DE INDIA!!!

iPod Nano 4G

It's jubilation time for gadget lovers as Apple has introduced its brand new version of iPod. Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the iPod nano fourth generation at the Apple Let’s Rock Event on September 9. It has been acclaimed as the thinnest model ever introduced in the market. The sleek and attractive piece of technology has come up with variety of new colors which the manufacturer calls it as ‘nano-chromatic’.

Another good news is that this version of iPod is the most eco-friendly one than its predecessors being free of arsenic, mercury, BFR and PVC. Good news, isn’t it.

The model, available in 8GB and 16 GB, comes with a new “Genius” playlist tool. The Genius feature creates a 25-song playlist based on the genre of the song we select to play. It also comes up with a capability to switch between portrait and landscape display modes and shuffle songs when shaken. Another salient feature is that it has accessibility features for the visually impaired. It seems it requires a software upgrade to Apple’s iTunes 8.

The price is quite affordable with 8GB available at 149USD and 16GB available at 199USD. Apple strives to retain its music player market after having introduced iPhone. With this new irresistible masterpiece it hopes it can. To be precise, iPod 4G is too good to resist.
